Good morning everyone, welcome back to Chakra and Angel Friday. This week we’re taking a look at Archangel Metatron. The story of Metatron is an interesting one which begins with Enoch, a pre-flood prophet of God. He was the son of Jared and father of Methuselah in the line of Seth, seven generations out from Adam and Eve.

Adam was 622 years old when Enoch was born.
Pre-flood people lived much longer than we do. Several hundred years, in fact the Bible says Methuselah lived to be 960. There are several theories as to why people lived longer. It could be the climate of Earth was changed dramatically, maybe post flood peoples diets changed. To my knowledge sacred texts don’t answer this question of why, so we’ll have to wait and find out.
Did Enoch and Adam know each other? Yes they probably did; in my research I found a text that spoke about Adam blessing Enoch and making him a priest of Melchizedek. From what I can tell Adam actually outlived Enoch by several hundred years.
Now Back to Metatron
The Angelic Realm is an entirely different, much earlier, level of creation than humans. People do not go home to Heaven and become an angel. That is not how the Divine created it. There were two exceptions made by the Godhead and Enoch is the first of those two humans to be taken alive to into the seventh level of Heaven when he was 365 years old, given wings and transformed into an Archangel.
As an Archangel the meaning of Metatron is a little unclear. Being a human his angelic name doesn’t end in the traditional “el” designating a being of God even though we were created in his image. I found a few different possibilities for the meaning of his name such as Youth, The Lesser Yahweh, Twin, Highest Angel, and One Who Occupies the Throne Next to the Divine.
He is acknowledged by Islam, and some Christian faith traditions. The Jewish tradition doesn’t outwardly recognize Metatron but he is mentioned a few times in the Talmud and is associated with the Kabbalah. As always various faiths mean spelling differences and we have a couple for Metatron. They are Metatetron, Merraton, Metaraon, Mitatrun and Mittron.
Since he was a man who lived and experienced a lifetime here Metatron presents as male. He is said to be strong, focused and direct but very understanding because he knows the struggles we humans go through. The colors he wears are violet and green. The Angelic Choir he is associated with is the Seraphim. This makes since as he is always in the presence of the Divine carrying out his will. The crystal most associated with him is Watermelon Tourmaline.
Metatron is the angel of thought and empowerment, partly due to his job while on Earth. Enoch, being an educated man knew how to read and write so he offered his services as a scribe. In Biblical times scribes worked as teachers, copying manuscripts, and record keepers. When taken to heaven those skills were utilized for the Divine. He is said to be the keeper of the Akashic Records.
This is the long way around to explaining being the Angel of thought and empowerment. But within these records is every thought we think, every action we take. Whether good, bad or indifferent Metatron sees and records it. He knows the power of though and what it can bring to our lives so he acts as a mediator between us and the Divine to help replace negative thoughts with positive ones; to remember who we are and the power we have within the Divine then to use that power for the good of all.
Let’s take a look at some of the other things Metatron assists with:
- He helps people stay on track with their life purpose.
- He helps people deal with stress by guiding them to stay balanced and grounded.
- He helps people to identify and develop their skills.
- He helps people in the process of starting new projects.
- He works with the flow of energy in the universe to and from the Divine.
- He helps people understand the Divines perspective.
- He helps people learn how to work with the angelic realm.
- He helps motivate people and overcome procrastination.
- He works with sensitive children/people to cope with the experience of being in this lifetime.
- He works with gifted people in whatever area their gift is, music, writing, art, healing or a spiritual gift to help them develop and use that gift for the betterment of all.
There is more I could tell you but I will call it here. I haven’t even touched on Metatrons Cube! It’s absolutely fascinating so that will be the subject for another day.
