Rose Quartz in the Morning Light

Good morning everyone and welcome back to Crystal Thursday. We are talking about a member of the Quartz family today, Rose Quartz. It surprises me that I haven’t discussed any of the Quartz family crystals yet, it’s a very large family!

Rose Quartz has quite a long history. Beads have been found in Iraq dating back 7000 years. The Assyrians are thought to be the first to find and use it. The Greeks and Romans also appreciated its lovely color. The Romans used it to make seals showing personal ownership of items, or people perhaps. The ancient Egyptians believed it prevented aging. The might have been on to something. Those face rollers are supposed to help reduce puffiness and wrinkles!

Here is the United States it was discovered in Custer South Dakota in the 1880’s and then in Maine in the early 1900’s. Since they both take credit as the first discovery, I thought I’d mention both finds. Aside from the US Rose Quartz is mined in several countries around the world such as Brazil, India, Madagascar, Germany, Namibia, and Canada.

Its name tells us what color this crystal is and that is shades of opaque to translucent pink. It resonates beautifully with the Heart Chakra and comes in at a strong 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness.

When people start collecting crystals and minerals Rose Quartz is one of the first chosen for purchase. Its energy is gentle, nurturing and very much about love. Not just romantic love, but love of all kinds. As a tool for personal growth it encourages self love and compassion.

Now let’s get to the fun stuff and discuss the metaphysical qualities of this beauty:

  • Wearing or carrying a piece with you encourages love to come into your life.
  • It’s said to help conception.
  • It opens people to love
  • It eases the nerves and emotions.
  • Removes negativity and anger.
  • Helps restore trust.
  • Placing pieces around your home encourages a peaceful, loving home life.
  • Placed by your bed encourages romance.
  • Placed under your pillow helps you have a peaceful nights rest.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this brief look at Rose Quartz. If the qualities of this stone resonate with you I encourage you to purchase a piece and work with it. Keep in mind I am not a doctor and sharing the healing qualities of this stone is in no way giving medical advice. Working with it can help but if you are ill see your medical practitioner of choice.

Until Next Time…
Blessed Be ❤ Sharon
