Good morning everyone and welcome back to Crystal Thursday. Yeah, I’m running a bit late but I am determined to avoid missing a week so better late than missed. Today’s crystal topic is Nephrite. My original post was back on August 10, 2017.
Nephrite fits into a small category with just one other crystal, Jadeite. Both are silicates, each have a different chemical makeup. Nephrite is a calcium magnesium silicate; Jadeite is a sodium aluminum silicate. As they are quite similar in color and metaphysical qualities I considered writing this article about both but decided they deserve their own time in the spotlight.
This is one of those stones that have been in use so long it’s impossible to know who first found it. In my research back in 2017 one source said it’s been used ornamentally and in jewelry for thousands of years.
There are several places around the world where Nephrite is being mined. Some of them are Canada, China, California, Japan, and New Zealand. It can be found in a couple different colors as well with shades of green being the most popular. White, yellow and kind of a brownish grey can also be found. On the Mohs scale it’s a strong 6 to 6.5 and it resonates well with the Heart Chakra.
Nephrite is a stone of abundance which has been used as a lucky charm since ancient times. Any green stone has the capacity to draw money to you but this one is focused on abundance! Its energy can help shift circumstances to your favor allowing abundance, whatever that is for you, to find its way to you. It does this by helping you be more creative and resourceful.
Let’s take a look at some of Nephrites other metaphysical qualities:
- Opens and balances the heart chakra to help you be more loving and compassionate.
- Encourages peace and harmony.
- Helps recall and interpret dreams.
- Balances the Yin/Yang within you.
- Strengthens the immune system.
- Improves kidney and lymph system function.
- Improves circulation.
- Helps increase clarity.
- Makes a wonderful talisman of protection.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this brief look at Nephrite. If the qualities of this stone resonate with you I encourage you to purchase a piece and work with it. Keep in mind I am not a doctor and sharing the healing qualities of this stone is in no way giving medical advice. Working with it can help but if you are ill see your medical practitioner of choice.
Until Next Time…
Blessed Be ❤ Sharon
