Although I don’t care for winter, I enjoy the month of January because it gives us so many firsts. It is a clean slate, a brand-new year full of opportunity. We have the first day, the first week, the first bad snow storm, and the first moon phases of the year. January 10th and 11th, depending on where you live in the world, brings us the first full moon of the year and the first of four Penumbral Eclipses.
This eclipse is the result of a full moon, meaning our focus is on letting go of outdated beliefs and behaviors. It will be visible in Alaska, Greenland, North and East Canada. For us the moon will be below the horizon during the beginning of the eclipse. Even though many won’t be able to see the event, the energy is still available for us all.
Eclipses are portals of energy which carry us forward. Last month’s new moon/solar eclipse opened the door to change. This month’s eclipse is likely to be an emotional couple of days as it is in Cancer, a water sign, so we could find ourselves dealing with extreme emotions for several months; even throughout this year of massive change.
Much of the changes happening this year are coming from the Stellium currently gathering strength in the sign of Capricorn. A grouping of outer planets, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto, will influence the entire year in a big way. Every thirty or so year these planets get together. When they do world changing events occur. Much of it because of Saturn and Pluto being in the same room.
Jupiter is the planet of expansion. Being in an earth sign at our full moon eclipse we are focusing on what within our personal or global space needs to go. But Saturn is a bit of a stick in the mud that likes rules and structure. While there is nothing wrong with that, we also have Pluto in the mix and it loves forcing change.
We have Mercury in Capricorn lending a hand and, hopefully come good open communication to these three until January 24, when it moves into Aquarius. The planets of huge change will be on their own until February 16. On this date Mars comes into the grouping to agitate an already stressful situation until the end of March.
Bringing this back to tomorrows eclipse, we have many things pushing us to make necessary change. Working through our emotions and letting go of what does not serve us isn’t going to be easy. It is, however, an important step toward our future.
Blessed Be ❤ Sharon
I’d have to say that your post made me look at the month of January in a different light. Wasn’t crazy about the month until now.
