Blue Lace Agate in the Morning Light

We are taking a look at Blue Lace Agate today. This beautifully layered stone has been in use since ancient times as jewelry and amulets. The story is, the Greek Philosopher Theophrastus was the first to find the stone in Sicily in the Achates River. Whether that is a true story, I cannot say. I haven’t found any validation either way.

Agates form in an interesting way. They form as a kind of geode. Liquid minerals flow into pockets in igneous rock and harden. Over a long period of time other layers fow into the cavity and eventually, you have an agate!

Blue Lace Agate is a type of Quartz that can be found in several countries around the world; such as South Africa, Brazil and Uruguay. Like all agates, this one is banded with pale blue and cream or white layers. Occasionally there may be bright blue or brown layers in the mix, generally though, it’s pale blues and cream or white. The Mohs scale classifies this type of agate as 6.5 to 7 and it works well with the Heart and Throat Chakras.

This agate has a very peaceful, loving energy with many uses. Some of them are:

  • Its energy gives a sense of peace and stability.
  • Eases stress and anger.
  • Helps you speak your emotional truth.
  • Helps reduce inflammation.
  • Helps throat issues/sore throats
  • Clears the Throat Chakra.
  • Connect your third eye to your higher self.
  • Helps reduce shyness
  • Increases courage

This wraps up our brief introduction of Blue Lace Agate. If this stone seems like something you would like to work with, I encourage you to acquire a piece and give it a try. Remember that crystals and minerals are here to enhance our lives. I am in no way suggesting anyone leave allopathic medicine. Rather the purpose of these weekly crystal articles is to offer alternative options to enhance your lives and the healing process.

Blessed Be ❤ Sharon
