Amazonite in The Morning Light

Today’s crystal is a type of Feldspar called Amazonite. This particular stone gets its name from its color, which is supposed to resemble the blue/green of the Amazon. It’s not known to actually be found in there. It is, however, found in Russia, Madagascar and here in the USA. From what I understand from the research I’ve done, that there was a time when a similar stone was found in the region, but there is no record as to whether it was this type of stone. Amazonite works with the Heart and Throat Chakras. On the Mohs scale it is a six, making it workable for jewelry and other things. As a matter of fact, Amazonite has been used for jewelry going back to Ancient Egypt and some pre-Columbian cultures.

Amazonite is a stone of courage and truth. It helps bring about loving, compassionate communication. Some of the other qualities of this stone are:

  • It helps you recover from emotional issues and trauma.
  • Dissolves negative energy.
  • Eases worry and fear.
  • Helps you release grief from the emotional body.
  • Helps you move beyond fear of judgment.
  • Balances the masculine and feminine.
  • Helps concentration.
  • Balances the thyroid and calcium levels.
  • Helps clear chest congestion.
  • It is said to be good luck.

We have come the end of our introduction of Amazonite. If this stone seems like something you would like to work with, I encourage you to acquire a piece and give it a try. Remember that crystals and minerals are here to enhance our lives. I am in no way suggesting anyone leave allopathic medicine. Rather the purpose of these weekly crystal articles is to offer alternative options to enhance your lives and the healing process.

Blessed Be ❤ Sharon
