I woke up early this morning to discover we’d had the first snowfall of the season. It was completely unexpected and I wasn’t at all happy about it. Fortunately, the ground isn’t cold enough to hold it. So, it won’t last long. By the time the sun came up, melting had already begun and is almost complete at the writing of this post.
I was talking with a friend about our snowfall and the synchronicity of this event struck me. To have a snowfall during the New Moon, Mercury Retrograde and the Portal of Transformation which began in July is no accident. Snow is a symbols of purification and transformation. After the time of snow we have life beginning anew. Mercury Retrograde is an opportunity to go within and reconnect with ourselves. The timing is too perfect; it seems the universe is asking us to wash away what doesn’t serve our highest good, and prepare. A new beginning is near!
