Ammolite in The Morning Light

Ammolite is considered to be one of the rarest minerals on the planet. It was discovered in a 1906 geological survey of Canada and is the fossilized and mineralized form of Ammonite shells from an ancient seaway that came up through the central United States and Canada connecting the Gulf of Mexico with the Arctic. In 1981 it was recognized as a mineral on its own merits. The only place this absolutely beautiful mineral is found is in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta Canada. Some specimens may be found down into Montana, but the bulk is in Canada. Special permits can be obtained to mine on your own but they are very, very difficult to acquire.  

There are a couple of different names that Ammolite can be found as, like Korite, Calcentine, and Kainal but the commercial name is Ammolite. Marcel Charbonneau and Mike Berisoff are thought to be the first to create commercial doublets of the mineral in 1967 and together they formed Ammolite Minerals Ltd. The piece I purchased came from Canada Fossils Ltd, which was started in 1979 by Rene Vandevelde. This man purchased the mine that became the Korite mine. It’s a little complicated, but I think that I got it straight.  

This mineral has a very high energy. It is said to hold the energy and knowledge of the universe. All the colors of the Chakras flash in this beauty. On the Mohs scale Ammolite is a soft 3.5 to 4.5. It is a stone of prosperity, longevity and flow.  

Working with Ammolite can enhance your life in a couple of ways.
