Picasso Stone is interesting, it is found in greys, black and sometimes reds. The veins are iron oxides. I was names for the Artist Pablo Picasso because, when first found it was said to look like one of his paintings. It can also be found as two other stones, Picasso Marble and Picasso Jasper. It’s not a Jasper at all, Picasso stone is formed from Limestone so it is more a Marble than a Jasper.
The only place it is found is in the Beaver County area of Utah. The mines are all located on privately owned property, so going in and rock picking is not an option. Your best bet is tourist and specialty rock shops. I was able to find two names associated with finding it within the last 50ish years. They are Melvin Bradshaw and David Penney. On the Mohs scale it is a 5.5 to a 6.5 making it very workable. Picasso Stone resonates very well with the Third Eye Chakra and the Crown Chakra.
This lovely stone is all about celebrating life. Pursuing what makes you happy. It encourages self-discipline so going overboard in the getting happiness aspect is not a concern. Picasso Stone gives you an awareness of who you are, who you want to be, and where you want to go then points you in that direction. It helps you feel free to be who you are.
Being a Third Eye and Crown Chakra stone, Picasso Stone give you clarity to understand your inner thoughts and feelings. It’s great for meditation, and having a limestone base makes it grounding. This stone is also very nurturing and calming during stressful times.
Any stone that refers to Pablo Picasso has to encourage creativity and this beauty does just that. Picasso Stone melts away the blocks to help you be more productive, to help you think of new ideas, and to inspire you to dream bigger. Along these lines this stone also helps bring abundance and good fortune.
From a physical health perspective Picasso Stone also helps you break out of unhealthy patterns that keep you from improving your health. It is said to help treat eye problems and viral infections as well as helping the body to absorb necessary vitamins and minerals.
This brings us to the point where I tell you that I am not a doctor nor am I suggesting you leave the wonderful world of allopathic medicine. I am simply suggesting alternatives to improve your health and wellbeing.
Blessed Be ❤ Sharon
