Chrysocolla in The Morning Light

Chrysocolla is a beautiful blue green mineral that is generally found in or near copper as Malachite and Azurite are. On the MOHS hardness scale this stone is a soft is 2.5 – 3.5 and can be found in Russia, Chile, Israel, the US and Zaire. I tried to pin point when it was first found but could only find a reference that Theophrastus, the Greek philosopher was using it in 315 BCE. So, this is one of those gorgeous stones that have been in use for a very long time.

Like most of the crystals and minerals I discuss Chrysocolla is not used industrially. It does contain copper and some amount of care should be taken, but most of us do not have sufficient levels of copper in our bodies for our health needs to begin with, so occasional work with it is not likely to cause a seriously bad reaction.

Disclaimer alert! Keep in mind that whether you choose to work with this mineral or not is your choice based on your guidance. I am only offering alternative options for your physical, emotional and spiritual growth.

The blue and green in this mineral work well with both the Heart and Throat Chakras to help us speak our truth from a place of love. Yes, this is a wonderful stone of communication that encourages sharing insites and truth. It would make a wonderful gift for a teacher!

Chrysocolla has a very smooth, calming energy which works to ease fear, anxieties, guilt, depression, as well as other lower negative energies. On a physical level it works to support thyroid function, eases throat problems and works to help breathing issues.

This is normally where I would give you my usual disclaimer but I’ve already done that, so have a wonderful afternoon or evening.

Blessed Be ❤ Sharon
