Haunting Reality

Haunting Winter

Hello Everyone, I am glad you stopped by 🙂

Merry Christmas! I took this picture out my front door a couple of days ago because it’s been pretty foggy. As I snapped the picture it came to me that this is a haunting reality of global warming. I live in Wisconsin! It was 43 degrees when I took this picture. It should be well below zero by now. We should have four to five feet of snow piled by the edge of the streets by the wonderful snow plow trucks. The sidewalks should be sheets of ice by now not wet with rain.

What is the most haunting to me is how much the climate has changed just within my generation. I am 57 years old. When I was a child we easily had four feet of snow on the ground during a cold winter, more in a warmer one. The neighborhood kids would dig tunnels through the yards and build forts and we would have the most wonderful neighborhood wide snowball fights. Ohhh, good times!

More often than not we would have snow on the ground in October and it would stay there sometimes until my birthday at the end of April. So in less than 57 years our planet has gone from several feet of snow on the ground to my son’s gardens are still growing in December!

I must admit that I am not one that enjoys the cold or snow and as glorious as this is to me personally, this is not a good thing.

I understand that the cycle of life exists for all beings, including our Mother Earth because she is a living breathing being just like we are. She has seasons of birth, growth and death just like everything else. Over the course of  a very long time she, on a planetary level, will cycle through those seasons. They are not meant to be extinction level events. Life will always find a way because it is meant to. It was designed to.

We are as connected to our Mother as she is to us. We are made of the same stardust. We were designed to live in harmony with her. By not doing so we are blindly rushing into something we may not be able to fix and be turning what should be a normal cycle of life into a life ending event. This is an event we are fast approaching. How close to death do we have to be for money to no longer take precedent over life? How many generations do we have left between a Haunting Reality and Too Late?

This is not the normal Friday Inspiration I post but I thought it should be shared.

Have a fabulous Christmas my friends

Blessed Be ❤

  1. Indeed the message must be shared. Thank you for sharing it. In a capitalist society, money will unfortunately always take precedence over Life. It is high time something be done about global warming, and we can only hope that conference participants stand by the commitments they made at the UN Climate Change Conference that recently took place in Paris.
